Liver Detox Diet To Avoid Liver Disease

It’s always a good idea to start a liver detox diet to keep the liver functioning properly. The liver is a very important organ in our body and also one that works very hard. All the processed foods that we eat contain chemical toxins that must be broken down so they can leave the body. If they are not broken down then they will stay in our body and eventually will make us sick. That’s why it’s a good idea to start a liver cleansing diet so you will never suffer from liver disease.

We have become accustomed to a lifestyle where everything needs to be done at the push of a button. Our eating habits have suffered from this immensely. Some of us don’t have time to eat and result to fast food and microwave dishes. Others have time to cook but eat grilled, deep-fried and… fast food.

Our liver ends up having to break down all those toxins and when our liver gets overwhelmed we can get sick. If we don’t have a liver detox diet on a regular basis then we might end up having to take one of the more demanding diets such as a fatty liver disease diet, a liver cirrhosis diet or even a liver cancer diet.

If we are looking to detoxify our liver, we need to be careful with what we eat. A liver cleanse diet consists of healthy unprocessed foods. It is important that we avoid as many processed foods as we can. Foods that have been processed in some way contain chemicals and will defeat the purpose of having a liver diet in the first place.

Raw & Fresh

Raw vegetables are a good addition to a liver detox diet. Raw vegetables contain all the good minerals inside them, unlike cooked vegetables that lose a lot of the nutritional value in the boiled water. Fresh fruits are also very good for the liver, as they contain a good amount of fibers and antioxidants.

Good Fats vs Bad Fats

Omega 3 is fats are very beneficial for our liver. Omega 3 can be found in foods like oily fish, seed oils and nuts. Try to avoid eating deep-fried food, fat dairy products and processed meat. It’s also better to cook with olive or coconut oil instead of with butter.

Avoid Processed, Eat Organic

When we go inside a supermarket about 90% of the foods we see are processed. It’s really a sad fact that we have to go look for something that isn’t detrimental to our health. Organic foods are a very good alternative. There was a study about the differences between conventional foods and organic foods and the conclusion was that organic food are much higher in nutrients. What is especially interesting is that the amount of antioxidants fount in organic food is a lot greater then that found in conventional food.

Just take a blender, put a fistful of green vegetable in it, and add a few fresh fruits to it. Now add some water to the mix and you’re ready to go.
